Rufford Old Hall is a stunning, Grade I listed manor house located in the village of Rufford, Lancashire. Built in 1530 by Thomas Hesketh, it was one of the grandest houses of its time. The building has retained many of its original features and still has an impressive collection of period furniture and artworks, giving a real insight into life in the 16th century. The house stands in a picturesque parkland setting surrounded by beautiful gardens and ponds, and is home to a number of rare species of plants, birds and other wildlife. Inside the hall there are several rooms including the Great Hall, Library, Drawing Room and Chapel. There is also a museum which contains many interesting artefacts from times past. Visitors can take part in guided tours which tell the story of Rufford Old Hall and its history as well as offering an insight into the lifestyle of its former residents. The hall also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including weddings and special exhibitions.
