Lacock Abbey is a picturesque and historic building in the village of Lacock, Wiltshire. It was founded in the early 13th century as a nunnery for the Augustinian order of nuns. The abbey was later dissolved in the 16th century and passed to the Talbot family, who preserved much of the original structure. Today, the abbey is owned by the National Trust and is open to the public. It is a popular tourist attraction, renowned for its beauty and architecture. The grounds of the abbey include a Tudor-style garden, a cloister, a gatehouse and many other interesting features. It is also a popular filming location, having been used in several BBC and other productions.
