Hadrian's Wall is a World Heritage Site located in Hexham, Northumberland, England. It was built by the Roman Empire under the orders of Emperor Hadrian to protect the northern border of Britannia. Spanning 73 miles across the northern parts of Britain, it is one of the most iconic and impressive Roman structures in Britain. The wall was built with limestone blocks, turf and timber in order to protect the empire from invasion.

Housesteads Fort is an archaeological site located along Hadrian's Wall, near Hexham in Northumberland. It was originally constructed in the late 1st century AD as part of the Roman's defensive strategy against invaders from northern Britain and Scotland. Housesteads Fort contains remains of barracks, granaries, headquarters buildings, bath houses and more. Visitors can explore this history-rich area and learn more about life at a Roman fort.
