Lyneham is a small town in Wiltshire, England. It is located on the River Avon, about 9 miles (14 km) north of Salisbury. The town has a population of about 3,000 people.

Lyneham is a historic town, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Bronze Age. The town was first mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. It was an important market town in medieval times, and was granted a charter by King John in 1204.

The town's name comes from the Old English for 'linden tree hill'. The town's coat of arms features three linden leaves, representing the three hills on which the town is built.

Lyneham is best known for its RAF base, which was established in 1940. The base is home to a number of RAF squadrons, as well as the Red Arrows aerobatic team.
