Otley is a town in West Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the town is situated 14 miles (23 km) north of Leeds at the confluence of the rivers Wharfe and Aire in the Washburn Valley. Otley's roots date back to the late 12th century, when it was a small village in the shadow of Otley Chevin. The town grew in importance during the Industrial Revolution and became a centre for woollen mills and coal mining.
