Hebden Bridge is a town in West Yorkshire, England. The town is situated in the Upper Calder Valley, 8 miles (13 km) west of Halifax and 14 miles (23 km) north-east of Huddersfield. Hebden Bridge railway station is on the Caldervale Line and provides links to Manchester, Leeds and Bradford. The town is served by Calderdale Council.
Hebden Bridge was originally a small hamlet, which grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution. The town became known for its textile industry, particularly the production of woollen goods. In the 20th century, Hebden Bridge became a popular tourist destination, due to its scenic location and proximity to the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District. The town has a number of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as art galleries and museums.
Hebden Bridge is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and is surrounded by countryside. The town has several parks and green spaces, including Hebden Water, a man-made lake which is popular with walkers and cyclists. There are also several nature reserves in the vicinity, including Hardcastle Crags and Stoodley Pike.
