Guiseley is a town in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the Aire Valley, between Bradford and Leeds. The town had a population of 17,122 at the 2011 Census.
Guiseley is twinned with Saint-Omer in France.
The town's name is derived from the Old Norse Gísla-leið, meaning "path of the gísla". A gísla was a Norseman who had been outlawed and had to live outside society.
The town's football team, Guiseley AFC, play in the National League, the fifth tier of English football. The club's home ground is Nethermoor Park.
Guiseley is home to a number of businesses, including engineering firms, manufacturers and retailers. There are also a number of primary and secondary schools in the town.
