Garforth is a town in the metropolitan borough of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Leeds and Selby on the A1(M) and A64(M) motorways. The population of the Garforth ward at the 2011 Census was 13,693.

Garforth has a long history dating back to the 11th century when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book. The name Garforth is derived from Old English and means "spear-enclosure".

The town grew rapidly in the 19th century due to the industrial revolution and the building of the Leeds and Selby Railway which ran through the town. Garforth was once a thriving coal mining town with 14 collieries in operation at its peak. The last coal mine in Garforth, Kellingley Colliery, closed in 2015.

Today, Garforth is a thriving commuter town with good transport links to Leeds, York and Wakefield. There are a number of primary and secondary schools in the town as well as a sixth form college. There are also a number of shops, pubs and restaurants.
