Aberford is a town in West Yorkshire, England. It is located on the River Aire, and has a population of 3,141. The town is situated between Leeds and Wakefield, and is part of the Leeds metropolitan area.

Aberford was first mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, when it was known as Alforde. The name is thought to mean "eagle ford", from the Old English words eafor and ford.

The town was historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was an important stop on the Great North Road, and was also served by the Leeds and Selby Railway.

Aberford is home to a number of historic buildings, including Aberford Hall, which was built in 1614, and Grade I listed St James' Church, which dates from the 12th century.

The town is also home to a number of businesses, including engineering firms, a food manufacturer, and a company that makes parts for Formula One cars.
