Climping is a small village located in the Arun district of West Sussex, England. The village is situated on the A27 road, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Littlehampton. The village has a population of 1,091 (2011 census).
The village is home to St. Mary's Church, which dates back to the 12th century. The church is a Grade I listed building. The village also has a primary school, Climping CofE Primary School, which was founded in 1874.
The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 as Clingepinge. The name is thought to derive from the Old English words clingu (meaning 'slope') and pinge (meaning 'at the foot of').
