West Calder is a town in West Lothian, Scotland. The town is situated on the River Calder, 12 miles (19 km) west of Edinburgh and 20 miles (32 km) east of Glasgow. The town has a population of 5,973 (2011 census).

West Calder was originally a small village, but grew rapidly during the 19th century with the coming of the railway. The town is now a commuter town for Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The town has a number of primary schools and one secondary school, West Calder High School. There are also a number of shops and businesses in the town centre.

West Calder is twinned with the German town of Lage in North Rhine-Westphalia.
