Killin is a town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, situated on the River Dochart. The name Killin is thought to come from the Gaelic cill, meaning "cell or church", plus the diminutive -in, although an alternative explanation has been suggested which would make the name mean "narrow place on the river".
The town is home to the famous Falls of Dochart, where the River Dochart cascades over a series of rocks. The falls are particularly spectacular after heavy rain. Killin is also home to the Breadalbane Folklore Centre, which is dedicated to preserving the traditional folklore and culture of the area.
The town is a popular tourist destination, with a number of hotels, guesthouses and bed & breakfast establishments. There are also a number of shops and restaurants.
Killin is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a number of lochs and mountains nearby. The nearest airport is Glasgow Airport, which is around 90 minutes' drive away.
