About Glencarse in Perth and Kinross
Glencarse is a small town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is located on the River Earn, approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Perth. The town has a population of around 1,200.
Glencarse was first settled in the 12th century, and was originally known as 'Kildrummy'. It was renamed 'Glencarse' in the 18th century. The town grew rapidly in the 19th century, due to the growth of the textile industry.
Today, Glencarse is a popular tourist destination, due to its scenic location and its proximity to Perth. The town is home to several hotels, bed and breakfasts, and restaurants. There are also a number of shops and businesses in the town centre.
