About Comrie in Perth and Kinross
Comrie is a town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The town is situated on the River Earn, in the Strathearn valley, about 10 miles (16 km) west of Perth. It has a population of about 1,500.
Comrie developed around the site of Comrie Castle, which was built in the 12th century. The castle was destroyed in 1645, during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. The town expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries with the growth of the textile industry.
Comrie is a popular tourist destination, due to its scenic location and its many amenities, including several hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, cafes, and shops. The town is also home to several historical landmarks, such as the Comrie Croft Museum and the Comrie Heritage Centre.
