About Callander in Perth and Kinross
Callander is a town in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland. The town is situated on the River Teith, at the edge of the Trossachs, some 20 miles north of Stirling. Callander was the first stop on the old military road from England to Fort William and Inverness. The town grew up around Callander House, which was built in 1636. The town has a population of around 2,500 people.
The town is a popular tourist destination, due to its location in the Trossachs, and is the gateway to the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. There are a number of shops and restaurants in the town, as well as a number of hotels and bed and breakfasts. There are also a number of outdoor activities available in the area, including walking, cycling, fishing and golf.
