About Pembroke Dock in Pembrokeshire
Pembroke Dock is a town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, with a population of 12,841 people as of the 2011 census. It is located on the River Cleddau and at the northern end of Milford Haven waterway. The town was founded in 1814 by Sir William Hamilton, 1st Baronet, as a result of the construction of the dockyard. It is the third largest town in Pembrokeshire after Haverfordwest and Milford Haven.
Pembroke Dock is home to the Royal Navy's base HMS Goldcrest, as well as a variety of other businesses and amenities. The town has a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, and cafes, as well as a leisure centre, library, and museum. There are also a number of schools in the town, including a secondary school and sixth form college.
Pembroke Dock is twinned with Brest in France and Weymouth in England.
