About Broadhaven in Pembrokeshire
Broadhaven is a town in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is located on the north coast of the county, on the estuary of the River Cleddau. The town has a population of 1,872 (2011 census).
The town's name is derived from the Old English for "broad haven". It was recorded as Bradanhaven in 1288.
The town grew up around the shipbuilding and fishing industries, and was an important port in the 18th and 19th centuries. It declined in the 20th century, but has seen some regeneration in recent years.
The town centre is located around Broad Street, which runs down to the quayside. The town has a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a library and a community centre. There is also a marina and a number of small businesses located on the quayside.
The town is home to a number of beaches, including West Beach, East Beach and Sandy Haven Beach. There are also a number of coastal walks in the area.
