About Holy Island in Northumberland

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England, which contains a historic centre. The island is also known as Holy Island and is situated within the county of Northumberland. It is accessible, most times, from the mainland by a causeway, and when the tide is out, by a number of roads. The island is home to a number of historic sites including Lindisfarne Castle and Lindisfarne Priory, and is a popular tourist destination.
