About Gorebridge in Midlothian
Gorebridge is a town in Midlothian, Scotland. It is located on the Gore Water, a tributary of the River North Esk. The town is situated 10 miles (16 km) south-east of Edinburgh, and 30 miles (48 km) from Glasgow. Gorebridge has a population of 3,480 (2011 census).
The name Gorebridge is derived from the Gaelic gorr (meaning "spit of land") and the Old English brigg (meaning "bridge"). The town's coat of arms is three gold cinquefoils on a blue shield, surmounted by a gold crown.

The town is also home to Gorebridge Leisure Centre, which has a swimming pool, gym, and sports hall. There are several parks in Gorebridge, including Gore Glen Park, which has a children's play area, and Gore Glen Woods, which has walking and cycling trails.
