About Moreton in Merseyside

Moreton is a town in Merseyside, England. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, on the north bank of the River Mersey. Moreton is situated between the towns of Birkenhead and Wallasey, and is approximately 10 miles (16 km) from the city of Liverpool. The town has a population of approximately 15,000 people.

Moreton was originally a small village, but began to grow in the 19th century with the development of the docks and shipbuilding industries. Moreton Docks were opened in 1844, and the shipbuilding firm Cammell Laird was established in the town in 1828. Moreton also became a popular seaside resort, with a pier and promenade being built in the late 19th century.

Today, Moreton is a residential town with a thriving community. The town has a number of schools, churches, shops and businesses. Moreton is also home to a number of parks and green spaces, including Moreton Hall Park, which is located on the site of the former Cammell Laird shipyard.
