About Bearsden in Lanarkshire

Bearsden is a town in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is situated on the north bank of the River Clyde, in the Kilsyth Hills, 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Glasgow. Bearsden was formerly part of the City of Glasgow before it was incorporated into East Dunbartonshire in 1996. The town has a population of approximately 11,000.

Bearsden Academy is a secondary school located in the town. The school has around 1,200 pupils and was ranked the best state secondary school in Scotland in 2015.

The town is home to two golf clubs, Bearsden Golf Club and Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club. There are also several parks and open spaces, including Baljaffray Country Park and Mugdock Country Park.
