About Neasden in London
Neasden is a town in the London Borough of Brent, England. It is located 9.4 miles (15.1 km) northwest of Charing Cross and is one of the 35 major centres identified in the London Plan.
Historically part of Middlesex, Neasden was incorporated into Greater London in 1965. It is a relatively young town, with the majority of its housing stock dating from the 1930s. The original village, known as Neasden Village, was located around the present-day Wembley Stadium.
The town has a population of around 24,000 and is ethnically diverse, with a large Indian and Pakistani community. It is also home to a large Hindu temple, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir London, which is one of the largest Hindu temples in Europe.
Neasden Shopping Centre is the main retail area in the town and includes a number of high street chain stores. There are also a number of smaller independent shops and businesses.
The town has good transport links, with Neasden tube station on the Jubilee line and several bus routes serving the area.
