Westcliff-on-Sea is a town in Essex, England, on the north bank of the River Thames, with a population of around 40,000. The town is part of the borough of Southend-on-Sea and is situated within the Thames Gateway, a national priority for regeneration. Westcliff-on-Sea is a seaside resort with a promenade and two piers, the Cliffs Pavilion theatre and several beaches. The town has a number of parks and gardens, including Prittlewell Priory Park, Belfairs Woodland Centre and Chalkwell Park. There are several schools in the town, including Westcliff High School for Boys and Westcliff High School for Girls, both of which are selective schools. The town has good transport links, with London Southend Airport located nearby and a train station with direct services to London Fenchurch Street.
