About Axminster in Devon
The town of Axminster is located in the county of Devon, in the south-west of England. It has a population of around 5,000 people and is situated on the River Axe, which runs through the town. The town is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Grade I listed St Mary's Church, which dates back to the 13th century. There is also a 12th century castle, which was once the home of the Earl of Devon. Axminster is a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque setting and its proximity to the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. The town is also home to a number of businesses, including a carpet factory which has been in operation since 1755.
