About Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire
Leighton Buzzard is a historic market town located in the county of Bedfordshire, England. It is situated on the River Ouzel, close to the border with Buckinghamshire. The town is steeped in history, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Iron Age.
The town has a population of around 35,000 and is home to a number of historic buildings and attractions. The most notable of these is the All Saints Church, which dates back to the 12th century and is one of the oldest churches in England. Other attractions include Leighton Buzzard Railway, which operates a heritage steam railway line between Leighton Buzzard and nearby Linslade; Stockgrove Country Park, which offers a range of outdoor activities; and Rushmere Country Park, which has a variety of wildlife and nature trails.
The town centre is full of independent shops and boutiques, as well as larger chain stores. There are also plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from. Leighton Buzzard also hosts a number of events throughout the year, including an annual carnival and an air show.
Leighton Buzzard is well connected by road and rail, with easy access to London via the M1 motorway and regular train services to Euston station. It is also within easy reach of other towns in Bedfordshire such as Luton and Milton Keynes.
